I heard a funny statement this morning while at spin class. It went something like this: “This hill steep… steep enough to make you mumble!”
For some of you, you might be thinking, “How do you get a hill in spin class?” The answer is simple, turn the crank! There is plenty of resistance to simulate a hill.
But the funny part of the statement was that you could tell Don (the spin instructor) is a cyclist. Because there are hills out there that make you mumble, even words you shouldn’t. One such hill is the crazy grade of Morgan Territory Road in Livermore, CA. I rode that last fall for fun… and it was insane.
Oddly enough, the mumble line has been stuck in my head today.
On a higher plane (not steeper though, lol!), I have also had the following phrases from scripture on my brain.
- “For the joy set before Him, He endured the cross…” Hebrew 12:2. It was with a sense of glory and honor that He went to Calvary to bear our sins, shed His blood (1 Peter 1:18-21), and reconciled us to the Father! Unbelievable… what is it that I take joy in.
and…
- “Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.” John 17:5. Before dust, stars, mountains, sunrises, Jesus was glorified. Before day, night, humans and praises to heaven, Jesus was glorified. And here Jesus is asking the Father to glorify Him to the glory he had before we even showed up! That’s just blowing my mind!
Anything stuck in your brain lately?
