All 6 of us left in 1 car at 9 am with 1 destination (17). In other words, my family and I took a trip on Saturday (2.24.07; 2+2+4+07 = 17) to see the fish and jellies of the great Monterey Bay Aquarium. And wouldn’t you know it if something didn’t seem oddly familiar. (more…)
In 1987, R.E.M. released their now famous, “It’s the End of the World as We Know It”. And amazingly enough, at the end of the world as “they” sang it, R.E.M. felt fine! But the real question to me is: “If the world were to ‘end’ soon, would I be fine?”

I was watching the late night TV recently and they were playing the entitled, “The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen” with Sean Connery. I watched it for about ten minutes before I realized… “this is so dumb!” Invisible people, some weird Indian Safari/Jumanji character, and an enormous looking Jekyll (no wait Hyde) all battle for some reason. I couldn’t make it long enough to figure out what all the commotion was about. But then I got to thinking…

Rob’s popularity has soared in the last years, especially due to his teaching tours, book releases, and video projects with Nooma. Yet, the “Bell-man” is not above criticism. Free choice has been, and often still is, the topic of much theological debate. Many books have been dedicated to this broad topic. However, the “free choice” I am referring to occurs at around 12 o’clock noon just about everyday of the week in my son’s kindergarten class.
There is something slightly ironic about upgrading to HDTV Sports Entertainment and simultaneously choosing to be away from your home for the Super Bowl! And yet, that is exactly what I did this year.
